Centre notifies transfer of Justice Jayant Banerji from Allahabad to Karnataka High Court

Justice Banerji was sworn in as a permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court on September 6, 2019.

The Central government has notified the transfer of Justice Jayant Banerji from the Allahabad High Court to the Karnataka High Court.

In its meeting held on May 26, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended his transfer.

Justice Banerji completed his law degree from CMP Degree College, Allahabad University, in 1987 and enrolled as an advocate on January 8, 1989. He practiced primarily in civil matters before the Allahabad High Court.

He was appointed as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court on September 22, 2017, and was sworn in as a permanent judge on September 6, 2019.
