The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of six judges from various High Courts across the country to the Delhi High Court. .This includes the repatriation of the Karnataka High Court's Justice V Kameswar Rao. Justice Rao was moved to Karnataka in May 2024, after serving 11 years in Delhi. Notably, the Collegium resolution had then revealed that it was Justice Rao who had asked for a transfer. .The Delhi High Court has a sanctioned strength of 60 judges but is functioning with only 36, meaning 40 per cent of the posts are vacant. If the transfers are notified soon, the vacancy will come down to 30 per cent. .The following are the six judges recommended to be transffered to Delhi: .- Justice V Kameswar Rao from the Karnataka High Court;- Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre from the Bombay High Court;- Justices Vivek Chaudhary and Om Prakash Shukla from the Allahabad High Court; - Justice Anil Kshetarpal from the Punjab and Haryana High Court; and - Justice Arun Kumar Monga from the Rajasthan High Court. .[Read Collegium Resolution]
