Centre clears transfer of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar from Rajasthan HC to Bombay High Court

The Central government on Monday notified the transfer of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar from the Rajasthan High Court to the Bombay High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his transfer on May 26.

Justice Chandrashekhar enrolled as an advocate with the Delhi State Bar Council on December 9, 1993.

He began his legal practice in Delhi, handling both criminal and civil matters. Over his 19 years of advocacy, he appeared in approximately 3,500 cases, primarily before the Supreme Court of India, and was involved in around 140 reported Supreme Court judgments.

He served as Standing Counsel for the All India Council for Technical Education and the State of Jharkhand in the Supreme Court. He also represented bodies such as the Bihar State Housing Board, Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Jharkhand State Electricity Board, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research along with various corporations and private companies.

He was appointed as an additional judge of the Jharkhand High Court on January 17, 2013, and became a permanent Judge on June 27, 2014. He assumed the office of acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court on December 29, 2023.

He was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court in July 2024.
