Centre notifies transfer of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra from Allahabad to Punjab and Haryana High Court

The Central government on Monday notified the transfer of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra from Allahabad to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

This was pursuant to the Supreme Court Collegium recommendation of May 26.

Justice Mishra completed his BA (Honours) in Economics from Kirori Mal College and obtained his LLB from Delhi University's Campus Law Centre. He enrolled as an advocate on May 8, 1993.

He primarily practiced in civil, constitutional, and service law. He served as arguing counsel for several statutory bodies including NOIDA, Ghaziabad Development Authority, Allahabad Development Authority, IFFCO, IOC, and UP Power Corporation. He was also appointed as senior counsel by the State Government in significant matters.

He was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2013. He took oath as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court on February 3, 2014 and was made a permanent judge on February 1, 2016.
