An MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi recently dismissed a plea filed against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his alleged remarks about Lord Ram during a speech at a US university last month..According to NDTV, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neeraj Kumar Tripathi dismissed the plea filed by advocate Harishankar Pandey..The complaint in the matter was filed on May 12 by Pandey who alleged that Gandhi, during his speech at Brown University, referred to Lord Ram as a "mythological and fictional figure." Pandey termed the comment "hateful" & "controversial."He sought the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the penal code. However, the Court dismissed the plea.
