Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai sought the prosecution's response to the plea and listed the matter in March. The plea was filed after Khalid's bail application before the Supreme Court was withdrawn earlier.

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student and activist Umar Khalid, who has been in jail since September 2020 in connection with his alleged role in the Delhi riots conspiracy case, has moved Karkardooma court in Delhi for regular bail [State vs Tahir Hussain and Ors].
