The Central government on March 26 approved the extension of the terms of three Chhattisgarh High Court additional judges for one more year..The additional judges whose terms extended are:1. Justice Sachin Singh Rajput2. Justice Radhakishan Agrawal3. Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal.The Supreme Court Collegium on March 20 had recommended the names for term extension.This is the second time that the Collegium had recommended such extensions for Justices Rajput and Agrawal.Justice Rajput was elevated from the Bar and was appointed in May 2022. Justice Agrawal had been serving as a district and sessions judge before he was elevated to the post of an additional judge of the High Court in August 2022. .In April 2024, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended that the term of both additional judges be extended by one year, which proposal was approved by the Centre in May 2024. This extended term of one year is set to expire later this year. However, the Collegium has now recommended that they serve one more year as additional judges.Justice Jaiswal was appointed as a Chhattisgarh High Court judge in April 2023.
