The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed its displeasure after it found that certain documents in a case relating to employment of a teacher were mistranslated. .The Bench of Justices JK Maheshwari and Aravind Kumar noted that the word 'reinstatement' was translated as 're-establishment' rendering a paragraph meaningless.Hence, it directed that the document shall be filed in original along with an official transcript.Pertinently, the Court called upon Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) President Vipin Nair to ascertain how advocates-on- record (AoRs) should address the situation since they are expected to certify such documents. .SCAORA has to inform the Court about forming a pool of translators along with an institutional change to have all vernacular documents translated before the final hearing commences in any given case.
