Senior Advocates will not be allowed to mention matters in Supreme Court starting August 11 (Monday), Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai said on Wednesday. .CJI Gavai also told the court master to issue a notice to that effect."Notice nikaal dena (put out a notice) 'no mentioning to be allowed by senior counsel'. From Monday no designated senior counsel will be allowed to mention matters. Let the juniors get an opportunity to do it," he said. .The Court passed the direction when Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned a matter before the Bench."There is a great demand (for senior counsel) that no matters should be mentioned by senior counsel," the CJI said.
