Pallavi, the woman arrested for murdering her husband, retired Director General of Police (DGP) Omprakash, was remanded to the custody of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for seven days by a Bengaluru Magistrate court on April 24..The order was passed by 39th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lata Devi.According to reports, Pallavi's husband, a former DGP of Karnataka, was found dead in a pool of blood on the evening of April 20. Pallavi was arrested in the case on April 21 (Monday) on allegations that she stabbed her husband after a domestic argument turned violent.Omprakash's son Karthikesh lodged a criminal complaint and suspicions arose as to whether his wife Pallavi and daughter Kriti had a role to play in his death.According to reports, Pallavi confessed to the police that she had killed her husband and that she had suffered domestic violence at his hands. She is also reported have maintained that her daughter was innocent and suffered from depression. Pallavi was arrested by the HSR Layout police on a murder charge while the couple's daughter (Kriti) was admitted to NIMHANS to examine her mental health status. .Pallavi was initially remanded to judicial custody till May 3. However, the investigation was later transferred to the CCB following which the agency filed a plea to get custody of Pallavi for her interrogation.By the latest order passed on April 24, Pallavi has been sent to the CCB's custody for seven days for interrogation.Meanwhile, doctors at NIMHANS have reportedly certified that Kriti is now stable and that the police may record her statement.
