Punjab & Haryana High Court initiates PIL over tree felling by DLF in Aravallis

According to a report, the trees were being cut across 40 acres of land in DLF Phase 5, Gurugram with residents claiming that the builder was “destroying the Aravallis”.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday initiated a suo motu Public Interest Litigation (PIL) over a news report stating that real estate developer DLF was allegedly felling nearly 2,000 trees in Gurugram’s Aravallis for a real estate project [Court on its Motion v. State of Haryana].
