PIL before Delhi High Court to waive entrance exam fee for women in IIT, NIT, AIIMS admissions

The High Court was told that an office memo was issued to this effect in 2010 but is yet to be implemented.

The Delhi High Court recently sought responses from the Union of India, University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to a plea seeking exemption for women from paying for the entrance exams conducted by Central government-funded educational institutions like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) [Mona Arya v Union of India & Ors].
