The Calcutta High Court on Monday said that the cases seeking independent probe into the gang-rape of a law student in her college in Kolkata will be taken up once they are filed. .Several advocates mentioned the matter before a Division Bench of Justices Soumen Sen and Smita Das De for urgent hearing. The Court asked them to file the petitions and serve the respondents. .According to a report in The Indian Express, a first-year student was allegedly raped on June 25 in the security guard room of the South Calcutta Law College.The survivor’s medical examination done in a state-run hospital has corroborated her statements, officials said without divulging details..Kolkata law student gang-raped, 3 accused including a lawyer in police custody.Till now, four accused - Manojit Mishra, Promit Mukherjee, Zaid Ahmed and the college guard - have been arrested by the Kolkata Police. They were remanded to police custody on June 27.
