Mother of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash moves Supreme Court for custody of grandson

The mother of deceased Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash has approached the Supreme Court seeking custody of her grandson, who is currently with her daughter-in-law, Nikita Singhania..A Bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and N Kotishwar Singh heard the plea on December 20 and sought the responses of States of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka.The bench has also directed the States to "ascertain the whereabouts of the minor child."While Subhash was working in Bengaluru, Nikita who was estranged from him was residing in Gururgram in Haryana while her mother and brother were residents of Uttar Pradesh.Hence, the three States have been made party to the case..The mother moved the Court alleging that her daughter-in-law was not revealing the whereabouts of the child..Subhash, a 34-year-old software engineer, had died by suicide in Bengaluru.
