The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfers of two Telangana High Court judges - Justices P Sree Sudha and K Surender..While Justice Sudha is recommended to be transferred to the Karnataka High Court, Justice Surender is slated to be transferred to the Madras High Court.The Collegium statement was issued after meetings held on April 15 and 19. The reason for the proposed transfers is to "infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice.".Justice Sudha did her law from AC College of Law, Guntur. After enrolling as an advocate with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh, she practiced at Tenali, Srikalahasti and Kavali. She was selected as a direct recruit district judge and inducted in August 2002. She served with the district judiciary for 19 years before her elevation to the Telangana High Court in October 2021..Justice Surender holds a degree in Geology, after which he did law and began practice in 1992. He has served as Assistant Additional Standing Counsel for the Central government in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. He was appointed as Senior Counsel for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to prosecute the Satyam scam case. He was elevated to the Bench in November 2022..The Telangana High Court is currently functioning with a working strength of 30 judges, as against a sanctioned strength of 42.
