The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that Delhi High Court Justice Arun Monga be transferred back to Rajasthan High Court. .The decision was taken by the judges' body at its meetings held on August 25 and 26. Interestingly, Justice Monga was transferred from the Rajasthan High Court to Delhi High Court only last month and had taken oath in Delhi on July 21 along with five other judges. The Collegium has not revealed any reasons for the proposal to transfer him back to Rajasthan within a month. .Justice Monga had his schooling in Punjab where his father was a judicial officer. He did B.Sc from DAV College, Chandigarh with first division. He studied law at Panjab University, Chandigarh. While studying law, he was teaching Chemistry at a school at Chandigarh.He started law practice in 1991. He then shifted practice to Delhi in 1997-98, where he practiced for 20 years, till he was sworn in as judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court in October, 2018. He was transferred to Rajasthan High Court and took oath on November 1 in 2023.
