The Central government on Thursday cleared the proposal to transfer four Karnataka High Court judges to other High Courts as recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium..Supreme Court Collegium on April 21 had recommended the transfer of Justices Krishna Dixit, K Natarajan, Hemant Chandangoudar and Sanjay Gowda.However, Advocates' Association, Bengaluru (AAB) had protested against the recommendations. Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) also had asked the Supreme Court Collegium to reconsider its recommendation. .However, the Union government today issued notifications for transfer of these judges. Justice Dixit has been transferred to the Orissa High Court, Justice Natarajan to the Kerala High Court, Justice Chandangoudar to the Madras High Court and Justice Gowda to the Gujarat High Court.As per the Supreme Court Collegium, the decision to transfer the judges was taken "to infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice"..[Read Notifications]
