The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday refused to entertain a public interest litigation (PIL) to strip Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of his Indian citizenship. .Notably, this is the third plea filed by Vignesh Shishir challenging Gandhi's citizenship. His earlier petitions were also rejected by the Court. .Today, a Division Bench of Justices Attau R Masoodi and Justice Ajai Kumar Srivastava said that there was no evidence brought on record to prove that Gandhi holds another passport or other citizenship."Where is that passport…don't fly paper at us…where is that passport on record?" the Court said.The Bench further noted that the petitioner has made a representation to the Central government, and the Court cannot enter the arena unless something legally justified is presented to it.Ultimately, the Court allowed Shishir to withdraw the petition with the liberty to file a review of the earlier order..Shishir had argued that there is a video showing Gandhi entering Vietnam with a British passport.
