Prof (Dr) GB Reddy has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS)..Prof Reddy takes over the role from retired Kerala High Court judge, Justice S Siri Jagan, who has been the acting Vice-Chancellor of NUALS since 2023. Prof Reddy will hold the office for a four-year term..He was previously the Director of the Prof G Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University and the IPR Chair Professor of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry since 2021..His new appointment as the Vice Chancellor of NUALS was signed off by Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar of the Kerala High Court, pursuant to a recommendation made by a search committee constituted earlier this year. .Prof Reddy holds two gold medals in LL B and one gold medal in LL M from Osmania University. He holds a Doctorate in Law (1999) from Osmania University on the topic "Supreme Court and Judicial Activism - Its Contribution in Specific Areas of Constitutional Law after 1980."
