Karnataka High Court restrains police action against BJP’s CT Ravi for obscene remark against Minister

The Court said it will examine whether the Speaker alone can deal with the issue since it had been committed on the floor of the house, or whether an external agency can investigate as well.

The Karnataka High Court Thursday directed the State not to precipitate or take any further action until January 30 on the First Information Report (FIR) registered last year against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC CT Ravi for allegedly making an obscene remark against Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on the floor of the Legislative Council.
