Orissa High Court judge Justice Dr BR Sarangi has been been appointed as Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court..The appointment follows a recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 27 last year..The development was confirmed by Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal on his X handle..Justice Sarangi enrolled as a lawyer in 1985 and practiced before the Orissa High Court as well as the Supreme Court. He was appointed as a judge of the Orissa High Court on June 20, 2013..As per Orissa High Court's website, during his tenure as a judge, Justice Sarangi has disposed of more than 1,52,000 cases and delivered nearly 1,500 reported judgments.
