The Central government on Wednesday cleared the appointment of judicial officer Yarenjungla Longkumer as an additional judge of Gauhati High Court..Longkumer was recommended for elevation by the High Court Collegium on May 29 in 2023. The Supreme Court Collegium approved the proposal in January last year. .Pertinently, the Supreme Court Collegium had also recommended the name of advocate Shamima Jahan for appointment as a High Court judge.
