Gyanvapi case: Hearing in both suits adjourned till July; Hindu plaintiffs given copies of survey report, videos, photos

The hearing in the suits before two different courts in Varanasi on the Gyanvapi mosque issue will now take place in July this year. .A District Court hearing the first suit in this regard, adjourned the matter for further consideration on July 4. The District and Sessions Judge Dr AK Vishvesha also handed over copies of the photographs, videos and other details from the survey of Gyanvapi mosque to the Hindu plaintiffs after they furnished an undertaking not to make the report public or give it to the media. The judge while doing so said that the report has been under wraps to ensure that communal harmony is maintained."Report sirf bhai chara ke liye gupt hai. Bhai chara bana rahe, shanti rahe (Gyanvapi Survey report is under wraps for communal harmony. Let us maintain it)," the Court said. The Gyanvapi mosque has been embroiled in dispute after Hindu devotees approached courts claiming right to worship inside the premises of the mosque, on the ground that it was a Hindu temple and still houses Hindu deities.A civil court, which was initially hearing the matter, had ordered a survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque by an advocate commissioner. The advocate commissioner had conducted the survey, videographed the same and submitted a report to the civil court.The suit before the civil court was, however, transferred to the District Judge by the Supreme Court which is currently hearing the Muslim party's plea challenging the maintainability of the suit. The hearing will now resume in July. .Meanwhile, a fresh suit was filed before a civil court in Varanasi by Lord Aadi Vishweshar Viraajman through next friend Kiran Singh, a devotee.This suit has been filed before Fast-Track Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mahendra Kumar Pandey. This suit has also raised similar grounds as the first suit and has prayed for removal of the present structure which the plaintiffs claimed, was built over the temple.The plaintiffs should be declared the exclusive owner of the suit property, it was prayed.This suit was also heard on Monday on the aspect of interim relief claimed by Hindu parties before it was adjourned for July 8..During the hearing of the matter on Monday, the plaintiffs urged the court to grant an ad interim relief to allow the Hindu devotees to enter the structure and offer prayers inside.
