Former Madhya Pradesh High Court judge Justice Rohit Arya has been appointed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the party's coordinator for the State's Committee on One Nation, One Election..BJP State head Vishnu Dutt Sharma appointed Justice Arya as coordinator along with Pushyamitra Bhargava as co-coordinator.Justice Arya had joined the BJP in July last year, nearly three months after his retirement..In an interview with Bar and Bench, he had admitted that his 'philosophy for common good' has always been in line with the BJP's ideals.Justice Arya was in the news in 2020, when he granted bail to a man who molested a woman on the condition that the victim ties a Rakhi for her assailant. He had also denied bail to comedian Munawar Faruqui for 'hurting religious sentiments,' and had also raised questions over religious conversions.
