Former Attorney General and Senior Advocate Ashok Desai passed away this morning..Desai was one of the greatest Lawyers of post Independent India . .He held office as the Attorney General for India from July 9, 1996 to May 6, 1998. Earlier, he was the Solicitor General of India from December 18, 1989 to 2 December 1990 . He was awarded the Padma Bhushan award and the Law Luminary Award in 2001.
