The parents of 32 students allegedly expelled by Delhi Public School, Dwarka for non-payment of fees have approached the Delhi High Court, challenging the school’s decision..It has been argued that the school’s decision is contrary to the High Court's earlier order, which protected the interest of the students. “That it is a matter of record that in order to circumvent the Order dated 16.04.2025 passed by this Hon’ble Court, the Petitioner [school] School by stroke of a pen removed the names of 32 children from the school rolls on 09.05.2025 and sent an email at 4.08 pm knowing that 10th, 11th and 12th are a holiday and restrained these children to enter inside the school on 13th morning,” the parents have said. They stated that bouncers were placed outside the school to stop these students from entering and the decision is part of a pre-planned conspiracy. “… the children were ill-treated and were threatened by the Bouncers and then were kept in a bus for two hours and then finally dropped back home,” the parents alleged. They further alleged that despite several reminders, the school deliberately did not debit the cheques submitted to pay the fee approved by the government authorities. .The parents have filed the application in a pending plea by DPS against the order of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) directing the Delhi Police to file an FIR against the school. It was alleged that the school confined students to the library, named them publicly and expelled a few of them for non-payment of fees. In one instance, a girl was denied help during menstruation because her fee was due. The order to register the FIR was later stayed by the High Court. However, in an order passed on April 16, the High Court severely criticised the school over its decision to segregate and harass students who did not pay the fee. They were ordered not to stop any student from attending classes. .Advocates Manoj Kumar Sharma, Aakanchha Jhunjhunwala and Sandeep Gupta are appearing for the parents.
