A Delhi court will start hearing afresh the arguments on the charge in the Delhi riots conspiracy case [State v Tahir Hussain & Ors]. .Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Lalit Kumar of Karkardooma court said on June 2 that the counsel appearing for the accused and the prosecution must now furnish a time frame and the manner in which they will address arguments. "Accordingly all the Special Public Prosecutors and Ld. Counsel for the accused persons are directed to furnish their schedule regarding the time frame and the manner in which they will address the arguments, particularly time/hours to be taken by them. Ld. SPP and the counsels for the accused persons shall supply the schedule of arguments to each other," the Court said. The case will be heard next on June 6..The arguments would be reheard by Judge Kumar because he assumed charge as the judge hearing these cases recently following a reshuffle in the Delhi district judiciary on May 30, 2025.The previous judge, Sameer Bajpai, had heard the arguments in detail on the points of charge. Notably, the arguments in the case had started in September last year before Judge Bajpai. The Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) representing the Delhi Police and the counsel appearing for the five accused had concluded their contentions before him.
