The Delhi High Court has reconstituted its administrative committees, replacing and removing Justice Yashwant Varma from them..Justice Varma was part of the following committees:Administrative and General Supervision CommitteeCommittee for Finance and BudgetingCommittee to formulate suggestions on Senior DesignationsCommittee to oversee the implementation of e-DHCR ProjectCourt Development and Planning/State Court Management System CommitteeCommittee to examine the pendency of cases in Delhi High Court, consider Case Flow Management Rules and to give suggestions to expedite disposalRules Committee for amendment/ review of rules of the appointment, conditions of service of the officials and employees of Delhi High Court, District Courts and implementation of other statutes.Judicial Education and Training Programme Committee;Rules Committee to look into Delhi High Court (Original Side) Rules, 2018 and ancillary matters'Monitoring Committee to oversee the functioning of District Mediation Centres in Delhi;Committee to monitor all machine translation related activities;Arbitration Committee of Delhi International Arbitration Centre;Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence committee.Accessibility Committee.Media reports stated that a fire at Justice Varma's house on the evening of March 14 had inadvertently led to the recovery of unaccounted cash. The incident led to allegations of corruption against Justice Varma, who has denied such accusations and maintained that it appears to be a conspiracy to frame him.The CJI initiated an in-house probe into the allegations and set up a three-member committee on March 22 to conduct the probe.A video of the recovery of burnt cash was also apparently shared by the Delhi Police Commissioner with the Chief Justice of the High Court and has since been shared by the Supreme Court on its website.The Supreme Court also published a report of Delhi High Court Chief Justice on the incident along with Justice Varma's response.On March 24, the Supreme Court Collegium decided to repatriate Justice Varma back to his parent Allahabad High Court.
