The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed Meta to take down Instagram accounts containing morphed and obscene image of a 15-year-old girl..Justice Manoj Jain noted in its order,"It seems that everything happened after innocuous acceptance of some request received by the minor victim and according to minor victim, various accounts have been created using her identity, thereby constituting a clear and deliberate act of impersonation.".The minor approached the Court through her mother after finding that fake Instagram accounts were set up in her name containing her images, some of which were morphed and obscene. It was stated in the plaint that some of the photographs of the minor had been obtained through deceit and coercion in order to blackmail and threaten her.The Court restrained the unknown defendants from uploading any image of the minor victim. It also directed Meta to disclose basic subscriber information (BSI) including the IP details of the persons who created the accounts.
