A Delhi Court recently had to defer the dictation of judgment in a road accident case after the stenographer threatened to die by suicide and left the courtroom [State vs. Sukhdev@Sukha]..Judicial Magistrate Neha Garg posted at the Karkardooma Court in an order passed on April 29 said,“Judgment could not be dictated as the regular stenographer of the court has left the court after threatening the court that he will commit suicide. Accordingly, relist for pronouncement of Judgment.".The Court subsequently pronounced the decision on May 09. The case involved an incident of rash driving. In 2012, a truck driver had driven his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, caused the death of a man on a motorcycle. The Court has convicted the truck driver under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).[Read Order]
