The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday recommended the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court..The recommendation was made by the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai.He is currently serving as the acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court after the retirement of former Chief Justice Suresh Kait on May 23. .Having enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1988, Justice Sachdeva practiced before the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court and various district courts in Delhi. He became an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court in 1995.He served as Standing Counsel for the Bar Council of India for over two decades and was also a Senior Panel Lawyer for the Union of India, representing the government in numerous matters for more than 10 years.In July 2011, he was designated as a Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court.He was elevated as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court on April 17, 2013 and became a permanent judge on March 18, 2015.
