Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court Ramesh Sinha was heard using a profanity during the hearing of a case on May 7. .A Bench of Chief Justice Sinha and Justice Arvind K Verma was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking the establishment of a fully functional domestic airport in Bilaspur, a matter that has been pending since 2017. During the hearing, the Chief Justice expressed dissatisfaction with the State government's stance. Addressing the State counsel, the Bench questioned the need for another feasibility report, suggesting that the State must either move forward with the project or allow the PIL to be disposed of. The exasperated Chief Justice was heard saying, “If there is a will, there is a way. If you want to make a vicious circle out of it, f*** off!”.The recording of the day’s proceedings from the Chief Justice's Court was initially taken down from the High Court’s YouTube channel. It was later uploaded without the remark in question.Bar & Bench tried to reach out to the Registrar General of the High Court via phone, but the call did not go through despite repeated attempts. The story will be updated if and when a response is received from High Court.
