The Central government on September 6 cleared the appointment of two advocates as judges of the Allahabad High Court..The two advocates who have been made judges are:- Amitabh Kumar Rai, and- Rajiv Lochan Shukla..The same was confirmed by Union Minister of State (I/C) for Law & Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal via a post on his official handle on X..The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names for appointment in March this year. .The Allahabad High Court currently has 84 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 160.The Collegium had recently recommended appointment of 26 new judges to the High Court.
