The Central government on March 4 cleared the appointment of four additional judges of the Madras High Court as permanent judges..The following judges have been made permanent:1. Justice Ramasamy Sakthivel;2. Justice P Dhanabal;3. Justice Chinnasamy Kumarappan; and4. Justice Kandasamy Rajasekar..The Supreme Court Collegium had in February 2025 recommended these four judges to be made permanent. As on March 1, the Madras High Court is functioning with 65 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 75, a vacancy position of 10.
