Centre asked to respond to CRPF jawan plea in J&K High Court after dismissal for marrying Pakistani woman

He married Minal Khan, a Pakistani national from Punjab province, on May 24, 2024 through a video call nikah ceremony..In his plea, Ahmed claimed that he had informed the CRPF of his intent to marry Khan as early as December 31, 2022, and submitted all required documents, including affidavits from himself, his parents and local authorities. He also claimed that he received a formal approval from CRPF headquarters on April 30, 2024 prior to the marriage..Following their online marriage, Khan entered India on a short-term visa on February 28, 2025, which expired on March 22. She applied for a Long-Term Visa (LTV) in March and completed all necessary formalities, including an interview, as per the plea.However, amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government revoked visas issued to Pakistani nationals.
