Calcutta High Court junks PIL which alleged that Bangladeshi immigrants fraudulently registered as Indian voters

The Court held that the PIL was not a 'genuine' one as the petitioner had earlier filed a criminal case against some of the respondents in 2019.

The Calcutta High Court on Monday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition alleging that 'illegal Bangladeshi immigrants' have fraudulently got their names included in the Indian voters' list recently published by the Election Commission of India (ECI) [Birendranath Mondal v. State of West Bengal].
