The Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA) has announced a helpline to assist the victims and families of the deceased in the recent Air India plane crash at Ahmedabad..In a press release, the GSLSA said that the helpline can be contacted for availing any kind of assistance, including gathering the details of passengers from agencies, issuance of certificates/documents and legal services."In order to assist the victims and the families of deceased victims of Ahmedabad Plane crash incidence, under the guidance of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Suryakant, Judge Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, NALSA, Gujarat State Legal Service Authority under the stewardship of Hon'ble the Chief Justice, Mrs. Justice Sunita Agarwal and Hon'ble Mr Justice A. Y. Kogje has proposed 24 hours helpline (079-25512033 & 6357981043) in coordination with Ahmedabad City Civil Legal Service committee," the legal services body said.Officials said the families of victims can also contact the NALSA Helpline at 15100 for any assistance.The GSLSA has also decided to install a helpdesk at the legal service clinic at Shahibaug, Dafnala, where guidance on how to avail services from different agencies would be provided..An Air India flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, killing 241 passengers and crew on board. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft was carrying 169 were Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian national and seven Portuguese nationals.Tata Group, which owns Air India, has announced that it will provide ₹1 crore to the families of each person who has lost their life in this tragedy.
