The Central government on March 4 cleared the appointment of three additional judges of the Bombay High Court as permanent judges..The following judges have been made permanent:i) Justice Shailesh Pramod Brahme,ii) Justice Firdosh Phiroze Pooniwalla, and(iii) Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain.The government also approved the extension of Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande's term as an additional judge for one more year..The decision was taken pursuant to the Supreme Court Collegium's recommendation of February 2025. As on March 1, the Bombay High Court is functioning with 66 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 94, a vacancy position of 28.
