Shocked: Supreme Court questions tree felling exemption for agro-forestry in Taj Trapezium
The Court took strong exception to an earlier order allowing trees grown under agro-forestry to be felled without permission, observing that such a blanket exemption could defeat the purpose of environmental laws.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday raised serious concerns over the exemption granted to agro-forestry activities from the requirement of obtaining prior permission for tree felling in the Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ).
