It was mid 2017. I received a message that I must meet Justice Sanjiv Khanna, and that too at his residence. I must confess that I was a bit nervous. I had my reasons. Justice Khanna was completely out of syllabus for Delhi lawyers who are used to judges being social and almost familial. He was perhaps the last of the breed that took the rule that “judges must confine themselves to the Ivory Tower” seriously.
