Supreme Court lawyer Ehtesham Hashmi passes away

Hashmi was part of a recent fact-finding visit that looked at the alleged violence in Tripura against minority communities.

Supreme Court lawyer and human-rights activist, Ehtesham Hashmi, passed away on Thursday.

As per reports, Hashmi died of a heart attack. He was in his thirties.

Hashmi was part of a recent fact-finding visit that looked at the alleged violence in Tripura against minority communities.

Hashmi was also among the many petitioners who had moved the top court challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Supreme Court advocate Anas Tanwir condoled the death, tweeting:
