Supreme Court Collegium reiterates its recommendation to elevate 3 judicial officers as judges of Allahabad High Court

Besides, reiterating three names, the Collegium also recommended names of thirteen lawyers for appointment to Allahabad High Court as judges.

The Supreme Court Collegium has reiterated the names of three judicial officers for appointment as judges of Allahabad High Court.

The decision was taken in a Collegium meeting held on August 24.

The three persons whose names have been reiterated are:

1. Om Prakash Tripathi

2. Umesh Chandra Sharma, and

3. Syed Waiz Mian.

They were part of eleven names recommended by the Collegium on February 4, 2021.

The Central government had, however, confirmed only seven of them while returning the names of four.

The Collegium has now reiterated its recommendation with respect to three of the four names which were returned.

Besides, reiterating three names, the Collegium also recommended names of thirteen lawyers for appointment to Allahabad High Court.
