Justice Rajesh Bindal takes oath as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court

The oath was administered in presence of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel.

Justice Rajesh Bindal has been sworn in as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.

The oath was administered in presence of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel on Monday morning.

On September 16, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the appointment of Justice Bindal as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court.

Justice Bindal was born on April 16, 1961 in Haryana and completed his LL.B from Kurukshetra University in 1985. He started practicing at High Court of Punjab & Haryana the same year and was elevated as a judge of High Court of Punjab & Haryana on March 22, 2006.

He was later transferred to Jammu & Kashmir High Court and then to Calcutta High Court where he was serving as the acting Chief Justice before his transfer to Allahabad.
