Mahindra University appoints Dr Jayaram Raghunath as School of Law Dean

Dr Raghunath serves on the Inspection Committee of the Bar Council of India and was previously Dean at GD Goenka University and Manipal University, Jaipur.

Mahindra University has announced the appointment of Dr Jayaram Raghunath as the new Dean of its School of Law.

Dr Raghunath is an academician, legal educator and researcher with over 25 years of diverse experience in law, spanning corporate practice, academia and institutional leadership.

Prior to this, he served as Dean at GD Goenka University and Manipal University, Jaipur.

In a press release, Vice-Chancellor of Mahindra University,Dr Yajulu Medury said,

His visionary leadership and commitment to innovation and academic excellence align well with Mahindra University’s mission to reimagine legal education. As we strive to develop future-ready legal professionals who can navigate the complexities of a dynamic global landscape, Dr Raghunath’s leadership will be instrumental in building a world-class, interdisciplinary legal ecosystem rooted in innovation, ethics, and impact."

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Raghunath said,

“This is a defining moment for legal education in India, and I am excited to lead Mahindra University’s School of Law as it pioneers new frontiers with a strong vision and global outlook. We are witnessing a powerful convergence of technology, interdisciplinary learning, and a growing emphasis on ethics and social justice. I look forward to nurturing a dynamic ecosystem at the university that combines academic rigour with innovation, ethics, and social responsibility.”

Dr Raghunath continues to serve on the Inspection Committee of the Bar Council of India and has made contributions to curriculum design, international collaborations, digital transformation of legal education and outcome-based learning.
