Kishore Datta resigns as Advocate General of West Bengal

Datta sent his resignation letter to West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Tuesday and the same was accepted.

Senior Advocate Kishore Datta has resigned as Advocate General of West Bengal citing personal reasons.

Datta sent his resignation letter to West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Tuesday and the same was accepted.

"I do hereby tender resignation as the Advocate General for the State of West Bengal with immediate effect owing to personal reasons," the resignation letter said.

Dutta has been at the forefront of many important cases in Calcutta High Court against the West Bengal government including the case on post-poll violence, and the arrest of four prominent leaders of Trinamool Congress party by CBI in relation to Narada scam.
