A lawyer practicing before the High Court of Kerala has been booked for sending her client a forged a court order.

A first information report (FIR) was registered at the Fort Cochin police station against advocate Parvathy S Krishnan based on a complaint received from her former client, one Judeson PJ.

The FIR against Krishnan includes offences punishable under Sections 420 (cheating and dishonesty inducing delivery of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (fraudulently or dishonestly using as genuine any document or electronic record which they knows or have reason to believe to be a forged) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the FIR, Krishnan told Judeson that she could get his property of 11.3 cents converted from Nilam (wetland) to Purayidam (dryland) in the official records of the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO).

This conversion is mandatory under the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008, but is a cumbersome process that could take years.

Kishnan told Judeson that she could get it done quickly if he paid her a fee of ₹75,000, the FIR stated.

After getting Judeson to sign her vakalath and receiving an advance payment of 40,000, she sent him a forged and signed reference letter from the RDO and a fake order from the Kerala High Court.

It is on the basis of these allegations that the FIR against Krishnan was registered on September 29.
