Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya appointed Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya will take over as acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court on October 25. The notification to that effect has been published by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

He succeeds Acting Chief Justice, Rakesh Tiwari who will be retiring from office on October 24.

Justice Bhattacharya enrolled at the Bar in 1983 and started his practice at the Calcutta High Court. He was appointed permanent judge of the High Court in 2003.
