Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai on Tuesday asked Indian students studying at British universities like Oxford and Cambridge to come back to India and “make Bharat strong”.
“The only appeal to you is that after you complete your studies, you do not remain here. Come back to India. Give your services to make our Bharat strong and one of the most important powers in the entire globe. So, Bharat needs you, respond to that need,” he said.
The CJI made the appeal while interacting with Indian students at Oxford’s Trinity College. Earlier, he had visited Cambridge University.
He told the students that they are the future of the country, and that the country needs them.
“Oxford and Cambridge have many alumni who contributed to the development of the country…I was really happy to meet the students studying a variety of subjects. A young man presented the book and research on equality as found in the ancient texts, in the religious bodies. I was amazed to know that there existed such a concept also. All I can say is that you all the future of the country and the country needs you too.”
