Chhattisgarh Government appoints 3 AAGs for conducting cases before Supreme Court

The Chhattisgarh State Government has appointed three new Additional Advocates General (AAG) to conduct cases relating to Chhattisgarh before the Supreme Court.

As per a notification dated August 3, 2019, Advocates Ashok Basoya, Sourabh Ajay Gupta and Manoj Kumar Singh have been appointed AAGs by the Chhattisgarh Government.

Of the three appointees, Sourabh Ajay Gupta has previously served as AAG for the State of Punjab between 2011-2017. Among the high profile cases he has appeared in is the Asaram Bapu case last year, wherein he represented the self-styled godman before the Supreme Court.
