[BREAKING] Centre clears appointment of 5 new judges to Rajasthan High Court

The Rajasthan High Court has a sanctioned strength of 50 judges but is functioning with only 23 judges as on October 1, a vacancy percentage of more than 50 percent.

The Central government has notified the appointment of five new judges to Rajasthan High Court.

The five new judges are:

1. Farzand Ali;

2. Sudesh Bansal;

3. Anoop Kumar Dhand;

4. Vinod Kumar Bharwani; and

5. Madan Gopal Vyas.

Farzand Ali, Sudesh Bansal and Anoop Kumar Dhand are lawyers while Vinod Kumar Bharwani and Madan Gopal Vyas are judicial officers.

The names of all except Ali were recommended for appointment by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 1, 2021.

The name of Farzand Ali was first recommended by the Collegium in July 2019. It was reiterated on September 2021.
